Gypsy Strings guests, Gypsy Cafe offers two seatings:
Between 5PM and 6:30PM (City Theatre)
After 8PM (The Gypsy Strings)

Parents, Please Note: Gypsy Cafe is an intimate neighborhood cafe seating just under 50 guests
in a single room. We are a great place for adults to dine before the theatre, for couples to enjoy a
quiet night, and for friends to get together. Consider dinner at Gypsy as a good night to get a sitter,
to get a break from the kids, and to treat yourselves to a night out with other adults!

Eastern European Ajvar (Pindjur): Roasted red pepper and eggplant blended with garlic, crushed red pepper, hot Hungarian paprika, oil, and lemon served with crostini and olive and feta garnish

Famous Greek-American flaming cheese appetizer. Sharp Kasseri cheese breaded with cracker meal, pan-fried, and baked hot, then doused with Ouzo, flamed, and extinguished with fresh lemon tableside.
Gypsy Cevapcici Meatballs $8
Gypsy’s version of a well-loved Eastern European spicy beef, lamb, and pork sausage recipe, served with accompanying sauces: homemade Ajvar, Tzatziki, and Cranberry Dijon Sauce.

Chopped Romaine and red cabbage tossed with feta cheese and dill croutons in Hungarian Vinaigrette

Pork Schnitzel $17
Brined pork loin cutlet breaded and pan-fried, finished with lemon, and served with homemade spaetzle and red cabbage sauté
Hungarian Pot Roast $16
Beef roast rubbed with bacon, caraway, and sweet Hungarian paprika, slow roasted and served with homemade spaetzle and roasted root vegetables in pan sauce
Café New York Strip $20
Strip Steak in the style of Budapest’s Café New York. Strip broiled to order and finished with a smoky tomato, cured ham, and Hungarian smoked paprika sauce. Served with Kasha Varnishkas (kasha and bows).
Croatian Turkey Cutlet $17
Turkey breast cutlet stuffed with egg and herb omelette, rolled, battered, pan-fried and baked, then finished with mushroom cream sauce over homemade spaetzle with red cabbage salad
Chicken Paprikas $18
Gypsy’s version of a classic Hungarian dish. Half chicken baked in Hungarian sour cream paprika sauce with bacon, onion, and green pepper with homemade spaetzle
Bigos “Hunter’s Stew” $18
Traditional Polish “perpetual” stew of sauerkraut with beef, pork, lamb, oxtail, kielbasa, chicken, and onion in a dark, slightly sweet broth.
Pistachio Salmon $18
Fillet of salmon broiled medium and finished with a pistachio, cumin and Dijon crust, served with Kasha Varnishkas (kasha and bows).
Eggplant Rollentini $15
Battered eggplant rolled around ricotta cheese and vegetables over eggplant-tomato sauce
Shrimp, Scallop, and Feta Stew $19
A simple stew for all seasons. Shrimp and scallops simmered in white wine and seafood broth and finished with feta, onion, tomato, herbs, and wilted spinach

All pastas are served with Gypsy house salad. Add chicken or sausage
to any pasta dish for $3 or shrimp for $5.
